The November 19 LCC mixer combined networking with a toy drive for Samaritan House San Mateo.
On Tuesday, November 19, 2019, CG Moving Company and the Latino Chamber Committee of the San Mateo Area Chamber of Commerce organized a mixer and toy drive for the benefit of Samaritan House San Mateo. We gathered at the San Mateo Marriott San Francisco SFO and were joined by Laura Bent, COO of Samaritan House, and a group of San Mateo County business representatives. Samaritan House is one of San Mateo’s leading nonprofits, offering free services to the community including shelter and housing assistance, medical and dental clinics, clothes for children, personalized case management, and much more.
Samaritan House: Feeding and Supporting the Peninsula Community
Samaritan House provides 1.3M+ meals annually and holiday gifts to families in need in San Mateo.
Laura Bent shared how their food program gives recipients an annual savings of over $7,700. Samaritan House provides 198,920 freshly prepared hot meals and over 47,000 bags of groceries each year, more than 1,375,622 meals in total for people in need. Many of them are children.
Their holiday program provides toys and meals to families in need from Halloween through Thanksgiving and into the December holiday season. If you are looking to host a donation drive for Peninsula families, follow that link for more information.
Who Was at the Mixer
Attendees included business owners, financial advisors, and Guillermo Moran, Business of the Year.
We were delighted to have in attendance Joe Partida of Partida Benefits & Insurance (CA 0579109), a champion of small business and a key organizer of Latino chambers across the region. Joe can help businesses with employee and executive benefit plans, health, dental, vision and life insurance, 401(K), profit sharing, and pension plans. His support in reigniting the San Mateo Chamber of Commerce has been invaluable.
